Learning and developing new skills and knowledge needs to be at the center of everything we do. We've entered this year with a clear desire to focus on who we are and what made us a strong school. Having high expectations is at the core of who we are, and this needs to keep guiding us as we constantly discuss ways to get students to keep developing skills and access new knowledge. How do we best use the time we have in the classroom? How do we get our students to better their reading and writing skills? How do we approach problem-solving and link it to reading and comprehension skills? Three questions that we've discussed this week. Three questions clearly show our desire to keep being who we are and a great academic school.
Our school delivered once again, and this despite the COVID situation. According to School Inspection's own survey, our school placed among the top in Sweden. Our students got great results, and we ended up at the top in many categories when it comes to all of the IES schools across Sweden. However, we believe that it's time for us to restructure and go back to what really defines us. "This is us" will be our focus for the coming year. What do we believe in? Why do we do what we do? These are questions that we will redefine and play with as we once again aim at delivering the best possible education to our students. We've had a great summer, and now we are excited to restart. See you soon!
We Walk Together! It's something that we strongly believe in and something that defines both our success and our philosophy. We share the same values and once we've agreed on certain routines we keep to them. To get 125 people from different corners of the world to keep on aiming for the same goal isn't always easy. To do it for 12 years is incredible! COVID has thrown very difficult challenges at our school and yet, we keep on walking together and we keep on delivering. In the middle of the crisis we keep aiming forward and we keep the long-term goals that we've set for ourselves without compromising on the importance of doing the right things needed to get through these challenges given to us by COVID.
In my 12 years as Principal this is most likely the most special school term of all. Covid-19 has tested our abilties to deliver a good school. It has tested our staff in many different ways. Many of our staff come from other countries and it hasn't been easy to come to work while not being able to help their loved ones back home. For our Swedish staff the challenges were also immense. Yet, we delivered. 96% of our staff answered that they would recommend the school. 97% of our students answered that they felt safe and 98% of our parents said that they would recommend our school to other parents. We have a good school and we are proud of the work that we've done. There are many challenges in running a school and we know that there are many small things that need fixing but right now we will choose to be happy, rest and enjoy the summer that is approaching.
