"As a native English speaker, the opportunity to be able to teach something I am passionate about in my own language is wonderful. " Emma Eyre, bildlärare
A well-balanced and healthy diet gives our body the energy it needs to feel good and be productive. Engelska Skolan knows that in order for students to perform well academically, they must be given access to nutritious and tasty food.
Engelska Skolan has the pleasure to work with Chartwell (Owner of Brandstation). This company is a leader in food nutrition and serves food to our students. The food is produced locally, is fresh and follows the “Svenska Näringsrekommendationer”. We also know that students (and adults) first eat with their eyes and nose. This is why we constantly try to offer our students food that is appealing and looks fresh.
We offer students and staff five different types of salads/vegetables, a warm healthy meal (fish is offered every week), hard and soft bread and milk.
Through Chartwell we were chosen as a Swedish pilot school for the introduction of a new food program: Eat, Learn and Live.
We offer our students a salad buffet which varies by season and always looks fresh and appetizing. For the salad, there are also dressings that we make on site, and a hot meal which includes fish every week. Obviously there is also a vegetarian option and options for those who have pre-selected dietary needs.
We also always serve hard bread and milk, as well as a soup of the day and often freshly-baked baguettes.
In addition to lunch there is an everyday option to purchase breakfast, fruit and after-school snack tickets.
Here you can choose between yoghurt, cereal, freshly-baked bread, cold cuts, boiled eggs and juice. Sometimes there is also the option of porridge, hot dogs, hot sandwiches, etc.
